In 2022, I was able to design once more for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America chapter in Pensacola. I again worked on the gala with the theme “One Snowy Night”, and the team’s approach was to mirror the success of “Havana Nights” using a similar strategy. However, instead of choosing a conventional snowy landscape, I decided to explore the mystique of the North Pole and capture the feeling of a wintery night in that enchanting location.
The process to design for the gala was similar to the previous gala. Through deliberation and consultation with the gala committee, we arrived at a shared vision of a visually compelling event experience. The focal piece of the design was the hand-lettered title that drew inspiration from the timeless elegance and charm often found in Disney movies. This title embodied the gala’s themes of wonder and mystery while maintaining a sense of refinement.
My intention throughout the gala design was to elevate the experience for attendees and supporters of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Hand-lettered elements that deviated from the usual snowy landscape transported attendees to the wondrous realm of the North Pole and immersed them in a visual narrative that would capture the allure and magic of that legendary setting. Even so, we maintained an atmosphere of sophistication and fostered a memorable journey into a realm of imagination and camaraderie.
